Top slimmer loses job as credit crunch bites
As credit crunch bites, top slimmer loses her job
TIME has been called upon by Charlie Walduck, super-slimmer at the television network. This was after the credit crunch struck the bingo hall where Walduck works.
Charlie, from Cumbria, is a national inspiration after losing 31 stones in two years.
Charlie, 40 years old, has admitted that his TV success is not reflected in his private life. He just lost his job calling bingo after The Astoria in Manchester closed.
Charlie, who was 45st and then 13st in the numbers game for 16 years, says that he now wants to work full time helping others.
He said, "It's been a sad Sunday last Sunday that we closed our doors for the last time. Now I'm looking for new work."
"People tell me I should be in the business of helping others and I already receive a lot of emails from people asking for my help.
"The last months of my life were the most frustrating. I was on a trip and came back with huge financial debts. I also feared repossession.
Charlie, who frequently returns to Cumbria with his parents, has begun to launch his new career as a public figure through Manchester Radio Online's radio show. Here he and a panel if life coaches will provide support to listeners on a range topics.
His plans include running the Great North Run in the future -- his fifth consecutive Great North Run -- and he also plans on running the Chicago Marathon to raise money for cancer charities. He will be accompanied by Stu Wheatman from Newcastle, who will publish Charlie’s revealing autobiography Slimmer Charlie at Tonto Books in Oct.
Charlie said, "Chicago will pose a great challenge for me, but I believe that you don’t need to be super thin or very fit to take part."
"I ran the London Marathon in 2006, and that should be enough to motivate anyone else. . . I'm just a regular person, who hopefully slips into society now.
Stu stated that he would love to run the Chicago Marathon. Bingo - The Credit Crunch is Over
