That's one way I can explain Ego. However, nothing is more Ego-ish that a poker player making a bluff. I tell myself two things when I'm shown a bluff by someone after I fold. First, he believes he's King Kong. But he's an idiot for giving information. He also motivated me to win at this table. This has a major impact on poker tournaments.

Do not be embarrassed if someone calls you a bluff. Doing nothing is the best thing, but you should still register what happened. You are being set up by him, and that's part of why he called your bluff.
