Here's a list of poker hands

Rules of Poker: Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em or just "hold'em", as it is commonly known, is the most widely played variant of poker. This is largely due to the television coverage of the World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour and other celebrity-based events. No-limit poker is often called the "Cadillac version of poker" because it takes just a few minutes to learn and can take you a lifetime for mastery.

Play of the Hand

Each player gets two down (or hole), cards that they can only see. It is called a round of betting. Three community cards, known as the "flop", are dealt face down in the middle. Another round of wagering takes place. A fourth community card, also known as the "turn", will be dealt face up at the table. Another round of wagering takes place. A fifth and final card community (known as "river") is dealt face down on the table. The final round is called the better. The players' hole cards are revealed, and the best five card poker hand wins. Your five-card hand can include none, one or both of your hole card cards as well as five, six, or more of the community cards. The pot is split equally between the winners if more than one player has the same best hand.

Rank of hands

Poker hands are ranked according to the order listed below, from lowest to most important. It is important to note that poker cards are ranked in the order they appear, from lowest to highest. All cards are considered equal, regardless of whether they have the same suits: hearts, diamonds, hearts and spades.

High Card: Cards are ranked in deuce (2) from the lowest to the highest. If there are more than two players with the same high cards, the second highest card (and then, if necessary the fifth card) is the winner.

Pair: Two cards with the same rank (or more) are called a pair. The highest pair is a pair with aces. If more than one player has the exact same pair, then the highest card (known as kickers), determines the winner.

Two pairs are better than one pair. If more than one player has two pairs, then the winner is determined by the highest pair. A pair of aces or sevens wins over a pair containing kings and queens. If more than two players have the same two pairs, the fifth card kicker will determine the winner.

Three of A Kind: Three of one (three cards with the same rank) is better than two pairs. Three aces is considered the best. If three or more players have the same hand of three aces, the two remaining kickers will determine who wins.

Straight: A straight beats 3 of a kind. Straights are five consecutive card ranks. Aces can be high, low or both. The lowest straight is ace through five, while the highest straight is ace through ten. Straights are not subject to kickers as all five cards are required for a hand.

Flush: The flush is better than the straight. A flush is five cards of the same suit, i.e. all six diamonds or all seven spades. If there are more than two players sharing a flush, then the player who has the highest card (all five cards if necessary) wins the flush. Texas Hold'em - What Beats You?
