7 Card Stud & 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo

7 Card Stud & 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo

There will be eight players at each table. Every player may have to place an ante during a round.

Beginning with the player to the left, the dealer will deal two rounds face down to each player. The clockwise rotation of the poker table will continue.

Each player will be given three cards. The first betting round begins by comparing each player's up-card. The first round of betting will be initiated by the player with the lowest number of cards. If more than one up-card is of the same rank as the previous, the up cards will be ranked in order by suit. This means that the highest to the lowest ranked suits will be ranked first: Spades, Hearts (Diamonds), Clubs (Clubs).

The bet was placed by the player who has the lowest card. Each subsequent player may then, following a clockwise rotation, either fold, call, or raise the wager. The last player to respond to the current bet is done.

After the first round ends, the dealer will bring the chips to the centre of the table. He or she will burn the top card in the deck and then place it under the pot. Deal a fourth card face-up to each remaining player in the game, starting with the dealer. The action will be initiated by the player who has the highest-ranking poker hand. If two or more players are holding the highest-ranking poker hand, the player nearest to the dealer will have to bet on it or check.

After the initial bet/check, any subsequent players may, in a clockwise rotating order, fold, call or raise. If the previous players have not made a wager, they can also check. Each player may check up until a bet is placed. The next player in a clockwise rotating rotation can fold, call or raise once a bet has already been placed. The last player to respond to the current bet will end the round.

The dealer will then give two more rounds of cards to each player, each followed by a betting session. The dealer will then deal two additional rounds of cards face-up to each player. Each round will be followed by a betting round.

If there are still enough cards in the deck/stub give each remaining player a seventh or final card.

If there are not enough cards in the deck to give each player seven cards, the dealer can shuffle the cards, burn one card and then deal each player a seventh. If there aren't enough cards including the burn cards left to issue a seventh, the dealer may shuffle the cards and then burn a card. A common card will be dealt face-up at the center of each table. If there is only one or none card in the deck at the time of a common hand, the dealer will shuffle and burn the cards before dealing the common card. how to best play the hi lo card stud poker
