Understanding the poker playing positions is essential. You must be able to win in flop games.

Below is a list of common poker positions at a table, depending on where you are sitting.

POSITION IN POKER

This refers to the position a player is at a poker table. Your position is usually determined by the dealer. This also determines whether you will place your bet first or last.

If a player tells you that he "positions on you", they will be sitting to your left and will always act after a play has been made.

To give everyone equal time in all positions, the deal is moved from one player to the next. It is clear that some are more beneficial than others, as you will see.

THE BUTTON -DEALER (ALSO DEFINED AS A LP).

Everyone wants to be "on the button" in flop/community poker games like Texas Hold'em. It is the best poker position.

The dealer always acts last after the flop in any round of betting. This situation allows you to observe each hand before you make your decision. This gives you the opportunity to play marginal hands.

EP EARLY POSITION

The majority of cases, being in an early place refers to the 3 seats left of the dealer.

EP is the opposite of being "on-the-button", because it requires players to act first. The EP is worse the closer you are to the dealer because you don't know how other players will play their hands.

These are the positions called:

* SMALL BLIND – SB: 1ST PLAYER TO RIGHT OF THE BUTTON

This position allows the player to act second to last in the first round but must then act first in the subsequent rounds. This is the worst position at a poker table because you're playing blind with stakes.

* BIG BLIND-BB: DIRECTLY LEFT FROM THE SB

Although you do have a position on one player it is not ideal to have to pay twice the SB. Even though you can act last preflop, this is still a losing seat. When you are in the BB position, it is important to lose as much as possible.

* UNDER THE GUN- UTG: DIRECTLY LEFT FROM THE BB

This refers to how much pressure you feel in this situation. This is because in games like Omaha and Hold'em, you must act first to avoid a flop.

MIDDLE POSITION – MP

This position shows the 3 players left of the EP. This is neither the best nor the worst spot. The EP allows players to observe how others act and has a few other players who can follow. Although it allows you to be a bit looser, the rules still apply.

LATE POSITION: LP: THE DEALER AND THE SEATS DIRECTLY TO THEIR RESPECT

The best poker position is shared by the dealer and the two players to their left. This means that they can see how the hand is going and are in a good position to decide whether they will call, bet or raise. Because they have seen the actions of the majority players, this is why the LP has the ability to see how they have acted. learn to play poker position
